Inclusive Learning Environment

        Through my career I have had the opportunity to work with children who have had a variety of cultural and education backgrounds.  I have worked to provide these students with a welcoming, caring and inclusive classroom community by

  • Using appropriate universal and targeted strategies and supports to address students’ strengths, learning challenges and areas for growth.

  • Facilitating responses to the emotional and mental health needs of students

  • Integrating mindfulness activities into our daily routine through yoga, guided meditations, breathing exercises, ect.

  • Creating social stories to support students with autism navigate social situations. 

  • Teaching regulation strategies and developing plans to help them identify when they are becoming escalated. 

  • Designing literacy and math programs that provide students with opportunities to practice skills and receive individualized support.

  • Creating and developing individualized success plans with students, parents, and school learning team members. 

  • Employing classroom management strategies that promote positive, engaging learning environments.

  • Recognizing and responding to specific learning needs of individual or small groups of students and, when needed, collaborating with service providers and other specialists to design and provide targeted and specialized supports to enable achievement of the learning outcomes;
